The Postponed Event Came to Life on the Evening of Hıdırellez, Filling the Square with Dance

The World Dance Day Event organized by Bornova Municipality, which had been postponed due to the tragic traffic accident in Bornova, was finally held at Bornova Republic Square with the joyful spirit of the Hıdırellez Festival. Featuring performances by various dance groups, the night was filled with colorful scenes and unforgettable moments. The highly attended event reached its peak with all participants dancing the traditional Harmandalı together in the finale.

Elegance, Energy, and Culture Came Together

The evening opened with a waltz performance by instructors from the Bornova Municipality Hobby Course Center. The performance, marked by elegance and harmony, received great applause from the audience.

The Yaşar Üniversitesi Dans Topluluğu brought high energy to the stage with a hip hop performance and later made the square feel the rhythm of Latin music through a salsa show. The Ladys Dans Grubu also drew attention with dynamic performances that energized the atmosphere.

The Ege Üniversitesi Personeli Halk Dansları Topluluğu brought the cultural richness of Anatolia to the stage with folk dance performances from the Bursa and Silifke regions, while the Çamdibi Halk Oyunları Topluluğu introduced melodies from different geographies to Bornova with its Üsküp performance.

Different Styles Met on Stage

The Hayat Dans Spor Kulübü took the audience on a romantic journey with a tango performance while also adding a different flavor to the evening with oriental dance shows. The Ege Kültür Derneği and İzmir Turizm Folklor Derneği enriched the stage with potpourri-style performances.

The salsa and bachata performances by the Ege Latin Dansları Spor Kulübü brought a Latin breeze to the square. Meanwhile, the zeybek performance by the Bornova Sanat Kulübü became one of the most impressive moments of the night with its powerful figures reflecting the spirit of the Aegean region.

Unity and Togetherness in the Finale: Harmandalı

At the end of the night, all dancers and citizens gathered on stage to perform the Harmandalı together. This meaningful finale symbolized both solidarity and cultural unity.
