Winter Sports Courses Begin in Bornova

A wide range of courses for children and adults
Registrations open today

Registrations have started for Bornova Municipality’s winter sports courses. Courses will be offered in volleyball, basketball, taekwondo, table tennis, football, and gymnastics for different age groups. Winter swimming courses will also be available for both children and adults at the Işıkkent and Dr. Şaban Acarbay facilities. Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the goal is to make sports opportunities accessible for citizens of all ages in Bornova.

Bornova Municipality’s popular sports courses are now open for winter registration. Volleyball, basketball (women and men), taekwondo, table tennis, and football courses will be available for children and youth. Registrations for gymnastics courses will begin on September 16.

  • Volleyball: Born 2012 – 2017

  • Women’s Basketball: Born 2012 – 2017

  • Men’s Basketball: Born 2012 – 2017

  • Taekwondo: Born 2008 – 2017

  • Table Tennis: Born 2008 – 2019

  • Football: Born 2012 – 2019

  • Gymnastics: Born 2018 – 2020 (Registration begins on September 16)

Winter Swimming Courses at Two Pools

Bornova Municipality’s swimming courses will also continue throughout the winter:

  • Işıkkent Muhammet Yıldız Sports Facility: Children’s Swimming (2009 – 2016) / Adult Swimming (1958 – 2008)

  • Dr. Şaban Acarbay Swimming Pool: Children’s Swimming (2009 – 2016)

Mayor Eşki: “We offer sports opportunities for every age group”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the courses are not only about sports but also play a key role in social solidarity and health. He said:
“We are working to make sports opportunities accessible to everyone in Bornova. Our courses help children channel their energy positively, young people gain discipline, and adults adopt healthy living habits. We are expanding and diversifying our courses and invite Bornova residents of all ages to join them.”
