Hot Soup Served at Metro Exits in the Early Morning Hours

Bornova Municipality is warming hearts on cold winter days by offering hot soup and water to citizens at the Bornova and Stadium Metro stations. Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the soups, prepared at the Municipal Kitchen, will soon also be distributed at the Evka-3 Metro Station, emphasizing that this solidarity-driven initiative will continue throughout the winter.

Hot Soup for 1,000 People Every Day

As part of the initiative carried out by Bornova Municipality, approximately 1,000 people receive hot soup daily at each metro station. The service, which will continue throughout the cold winter months, is planned to be extended soon to the exit of Evka-3 Metro Station.

Soups Prepared at the Municipal Kitchen

The soups served to citizens are prepared under hygienic conditions by professional chefs at the Bornova Municipality’s Municipal Kitchen. Especially popular among students and employees, the service offers a warm break during the early morning hours at metro stations.

Mayor Ömer Eşki Joined Citizens

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki also took part in the soup distribution on the first working day of the week. Personally serving soup to citizens, Mayor Eşki chatted with commuters waiting at the station and listened to their requests.

“We know that on cold winter mornings, a bowl of hot soup warms not only the body but also the soul,” said Mayor Eşki. “We are working with a vision of a city where no one feels alone and solidarity is a part of everyday life in Bornova. We wanted to offer a small but sincere support to our citizens on their way to work or school. We will continue this service throughout the winter.”
