Transportation Services Directorate
Job Description
The responsibilities include identifying and procuring, through public tenders, the annual needs of the Municipality’s motor vehicles and construction machinery, such as spare parts, oil, tires, and fuel. All municipal vehicles undergo repair and periodic maintenance in our municipal workshop; if repairs cannot be conducted in-house, the necessary services are procured in accordance with Public Procurement Law No. 4734.
Other responsibilities include ensuring timely and orderly execution of all vehicle-related processes such as registration, licensing, insurance, inspection, certification, and decommissioning. Based on the instructions of the Mayor’s Office, vehicles and drivers are allocated to relevant units as needed. The department is also responsible for fulfilling the daily and hourly vehicle requests of municipal units, handling transactions related to donated vehicles, managing vehicle rental processes when required, and ensuring the effective use of the vehicle tracking system installed in municipal vehicles.
Additionally, funeral transportation services are provided upon citizen requests.
Fields of Activity
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Workshop
The department operates various workshops, including passenger vehicle, heavy vehicle, auto-electric, tire, oil-change, welding, and fuel station workshops. It performs periodic maintenance and repair of all municipal vehicles. If a vehicle cannot be repaired in-house, it is reported to the procurement unit and serviced through public tender by authorized firms. A detailed service report is prepared and archived for every vehicle serviced. Fuel is supplied to municipal vehicles from the municipality’s own station, and mobile fueling is provided to field vehicles via fuel tanker.
Traffic Services
Handles administrative procedures related to traffic accidents involving municipal vehicles. It carries out all documentation processes for municipal vehicles and machinery, including registration, insurance, inspection, licensing, emission testing, issuance and replacement of license plates. It also completes all formalities for newly purchased or donated vehicles.
Vehicle Dispatch Unit
Fulfills vehicle requests from municipal directorates. Based on approval from the Mayor’s Office, it also meets vehicle demands from the governor’s office, district governorate, civil defense, election board, NGOs, and other institutions. During Eid al-Adha, it supports the Turkish Aeronautical Association in collecting sacrificial hides.
Administrative Affairs Unit
Processes tasks based on incoming documents via the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Ensures the orderly filing of physical documents. Manages personnel attendance records. Prepares and monitors tender files, technical specifications, contracts, and handles acceptance and inspection procedures. Payment claims are processed and finalized on time.
