An Unforgettable Night in Büyükpark by ADD Bornova Branch

The Turkish Classical Music Choir of the Atatürkist Thought Association (ADD) Bornova Branch gave the people of Bornova an unforgettable evening with the “Welcome Summer” concert, held during the week of May 19th – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. With the support of the Bornova Municipality, the concert took place at the Ayfer Feray Open-Air Theater in Büyükpark, bringing art lovers together with the unique melodies of Turkish Classical Music.

In the Light of Art, in the Footsteps of Atatürk

The concert was a tribute to Atatürk’s vision in the field of art, particularly music, and offered the audience both nostalgic and emotional moments. Organized through the collaboration of the ADD Bornova Branch and Bornova Municipality, the meaningful event once again highlighted the unifying power of art. Under the direction of conductor Engin Karadağ, the choir impressed listeners with both solo and ensemble performances.

“Art is the foundation of the Republic”

Before the concert, ADD Bornova Branch President Mübeccel Timaç emphasized Atatürk’s dedication to the arts, stating:

“The Republic is a vision for a future where youth are not judged but included in production and hope. Sustaining the values inherited from Atatürk is only possible through art. Our Great Leader left us a roadmap when he said, ‘A nation devoid of art is a nation whose one vital vein has been severed.’”

Timaç also underlined that Turkish Classical Music is not only a legacy of the past but also of the future:

“In these melodies lie our history, literature, culture, and the emotions that define us. Our duty is to help younger generations love and preserve this music.”
