Mayor Eşki: “Pınar Street will shine bright”

Bornova Municipality has launched a comprehensive renovation project on Pınar Street, the main road leading to Pınarbaşı, including road, median, sidewalk, lighting, and landscaping works. Following the works on site, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that Pınar Street will soon have a modern, bright, and fitting look worthy of the people of Pınarbaşı. The street will be opened to traffic in the near future.

“We are bringing my dream street to life”

Regarding the ongoing works in Pınarbaşı, Mayor Eşki said:
“This road to Pınarbaşı is used not only by Bornova residents but also by people from many parts of İzmir, especially during the wedding season in the summer. When I first came here in 2009 as the youth branch president during election campaigns, the roads were broken, long, and dark. Since then, my dream has been to see Pınar Street straight, safe, and aesthetic, with its median and lighting. Now, we are realizing this dream. I thank all my colleagues who have worked so hard.”

“We will soon open a street worthy of Pınarbaşı”

Mayor Eşki, who was accompanied by Council Member Erol Mutlu and CHP Bornova District Secretary Adnan Aysal during the inspections, added:
“Very soon, Pınar Street will become a beautiful, bright, colorful, and well-organized road, worthy of its name and of the people of Pınarbaşı. Within the next few days, we will open this road, renewed for our citizens, to traffic. We will continue to put in all our efforts until traffic comfort and transportation aesthetics are ensured in every corner of Bornova.”

Decorated with quince and pomegranate motifs

When completed in collaboration with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the project will give Pınar Street a modern new look. Decorated with quince and pomegranate motifs, the symbols of Pınarbaşı, the street will gain a bright and distinctive identity befitting the local community.
