Farmers received training on soil fertility and proper fertilization

Hosted by the Bornova Municipality, a training program held at the Nevzat Kavalar Cultural Center provided farmers with information on efficient soil use and proper fertilization methods. The training, titled “Soil Fertility, Plant Nutrition, and Fertilization,” was organized by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Agricultural Services and delivered by Agricultural Engineer Dr. Ayşen Duman.

During the program, producers from Bornova were given comprehensive information on proper soil analysis, determining the nutrients required by plants, and the fertilization methods necessary for efficient production.

Free soil analysis support for Bornova farmers

The training emphasized that soil analysis is the foundation of proper agricultural production. At the end of the program, it was announced that Bornova farmers would receive free soil analysis support from the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.

Thanks to this support, producers will be able to identify the nutrient needs of their soil, increase productivity, and reduce costs by avoiding unnecessary fertilizer use.

Bornova Municipality continues its efforts to strengthen agricultural production. In addition to training programs for producers, the municipality carries out projects such as urban gardens, free distribution of seedlings, saplings, seeds, and fertilizers, as well as producer meetings and initiatives supporting rural development.

It was emphasized that access to knowledge is crucial for the sustainability of agriculture, and that such training programs will continue in the future.
