Mayor Eşki Conducted Inspections on 6086 Street in Işıkkent

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki carried out a field inspection on 6086 Street in Işıkkent ahead of the special road and sidewalk improvement works planned for the area. Eşki stated that with the new aesthetic and illuminated road model, which will be implemented for the first time on this damaged street, the area will gain a modern appearance. In addition, the sidewalks will be completely renewed in a way that suits urban life.

As part of its district-wide road improvement efforts, the Bornova Municipality is launching a significant project in Işıkkent. During his site visit, Mayor Ömer Eşki provided details about the special project, accompanied by relevant municipal officials.

"We're Trying This for the First Time in Bornova"

Mayor Eşki described the planned work in the area with the following words:

“We are on 6086 Street in Işıkkent, next to the marketplace. It’s a very damaged street. After the work done by İzmirgaz and other infrastructure companies, the street is full of patches. Here, we will try something new for the first time in Bornova and lay a special type of asphalt. We will present our citizens with a new, aesthetic, and illuminated road that is visually appealing, with separate parking bays and a distinct road design.”

"Sidewalks Will Be Completely Renewed as Well"

Mayor Eşki emphasized that the improvements will not be limited to the road itself, stating that the sidewalks will also be rebuilt to match Bornova’s standards:

“Soon, Bornova as a whole will have not only more accessible roads but also a more aesthetic structure. We won’t just be fixing the roads; we will completely renovate all the sidewalks. Currently, there are sidewalks at different elevations and with various types of paving. We will transform all of them into a cohesive design that fits urban life.”
