Penalties Are Now Issued Instantly

Bornova Municipality’s municipal police teams have begun issuing penalties to businesses instantly by using a mobile application and portable printers. During inspections carried out on Süvari Street and in the Küçükpark area, sidewalk occupation and business license checks were conducted, with warnings and penalties imposed where necessary. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the system is important for maintaining urban order and ensuring fair inspections.

Bornova Municipality’s Directorate of Municipal Police Affairs has increased the speed and efficiency of field operations by actively integrating technology into inspection processes. Through a mobile application, municipal police officers can now immediately prepare official penalty reports for detected violations and deliver them on-site to the relevant businesses using portable printers.

Strict Inspections on Süvari Street and in Küçükpark

As part of the initiative, inspections focusing on sidewalk occupation and business licenses were carried out in Süvari Street and the Küçükpark area, two of the busiest locations in the district. During the inspections, businesses engaged in practices contrary to regulations were warned, while those failing to comply with legal requirements were subjected to penalties.

Particular attention was given to occupations obstructing pedestrian movement, and the necessary measures were taken to ensure public spaces are used appropriately.

Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the new system has increased operational efficiency in the field:

“Equipping our municipal police teams with mobile applications and portable printers has made our inspections faster and more transparent. Violations are recorded instantly, and penalties are delivered without delay. Our primary objective is not to impose fines, but to maintain urban order, ensure that sidewalks can be comfortably used by our citizens, and create a fair environment for all businesses. We will continue our inspections with this understanding.”

Through its technology-driven inspection approach, Bornova Municipality aims both to improve citizens’ quality of life and to ensure long-term urban order throughout the district.
