10 Neighborhoods, 10 Films, Countless Smiles

Bornova Municipality’s Open-Air Summer Cinema Nights, which began on July 17 in Büyükpark, have brought nostalgic movie nights to neighborhoods across the city. The event, made even more festive with complimentary soda and popcorn, will conclude on August 14 with a final screening in Işıkkent.

The Open-Air Cinema Nights—eagerly awaited by Bornova residents every summer—once again drew great interest this year. The event kicked off with the film Kolonya Cumhuriyeti shown in Büyükpark on July 17. Each week, beloved Turkish comedies were screened on giant outdoor screens in two different neighborhoods:

The cinema journey will wrap up with three final screenings:

The events, brought to life with popcorn and soda treats, allow neighborhood residents to enjoy summer evenings together under the stars. Bringing together Bornovalı of all ages, the program not only creates a nostalgic atmosphere but also strengthens social bonds between communities.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki expressed his happiness with the public’s interest in the program, stating:
