The 10th Beekeeping Course Completed in Bornova

The 10th Beekeeping Course organized by Bornova Municipality was successfully completed with the participation of 80 trainees following 56 hours of theoretical and practical training. At the end of the program, participants were provided with beehives and essential equipment, while year-round technical support was also announced. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the project supports production and sustainability.

The annual Beekeeping Course organized by Bornova Municipality was held for the tenth time this year. The training program, consisting of 40 hours of theoretical instruction and 16 hours of practical training for a total of 56 hours, was conducted by expert instructor Şamil Tuncay Beştoy.

Fully Equipped Support for Trainees

At the end of the training process, participants were provided with Langstroth-type double-story beehives equipped with pollen traps, along with essential equipment to support their beekeeping activities. The trainees received items including propolis traps, queen excluders, protective trousers, masks, gloves, smokers, hive tools, foundation combs, brushes, and feeders, enabling them to begin production immediately.

In addition, trainees starting beekeeping activities will continue to receive technical support throughout the year from municipal staff and the course instructor.

Strong Interest: 80 New Beekeepers Trained

A total of 80 trainees participated in this year’s program, while nearly 1,000 people have attended the courses organized to date. A significant number of participants have actively begun beekeeping and contributed to production.
