The Local Equality Action Plan Introduced to All Municipal Departments

Bornova Municipality introduced its Local Equality Action Plan, developed to strengthen gender equality, to all municipal departments. During a presentation held at Dramalılar Mansion, the goals of the plan and the activities to be implemented were shared. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that equality will become an integral part of Bornova Municipality’s institutional culture.

Prepared by the Municipality’s Directorate of Women and Family Services, the Local Equality Action Plan was presented to all municipal departments at Dramalılar Mansion. The presentation provided detailed information on the importance of the plan, its objectives, activity areas, and upcoming collaborative efforts.

Equality to Become an Institutional Culture

With the aim of making gender equality not just a goal but a fundamental approach across all areas of operation, Bornova Municipality will integrate an equality perspective into all departmental work under the coordination of the Directorate of Women and Family Services. In this way, equality will not only be reflected in individual projects but will become a core component of the municipality's institutional culture and a mainstream policy throughout the district.

Stating that equality is a fundamental condition for democracy and justice, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said, “We are determined to build a life in Bornova where women, children, youth, and all individuals have equal opportunities. The Local Equality Action Plan is a concrete step taken with this understanding. From now on, equality will not just be a project of Bornova Municipality but an inseparable part of how we work. Together, we will build a fairer and more inclusive Bornova.”
