The "Sustainable Transportation and Water Management in Local Government Services Project (STORMLOG Project)," jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented within the scope of the Climate Change Adaptation Grant Program, will be implemented between December 15, 2023, and December 14, 2025. The total project budget is €499,903.97, with Bornova Municipality providing 10% co-financing. Project partners include Yaşar University (Turkey) and Energy Cities (France). The primary objective of the project is to increase Bornova's resilience to the climate crisis and to implement new technologies in water management and sustainable transportation.

Main Activities/Outputs:

Study visits were organized to Spain, Belgium, and Portugal.

A Local Climate Action Plan (SECAP) for Bornova was prepared and reported.
Twelve training sessions, two online seminars, and surveys and awareness campaigns were conducted for different age groups.

A 124 kW Solar Power Plant (SPP) was installed on the roof of the Çamdibi Indoor Swimming Pool.

70 LED lighting upgrades were completed at Çamdibi Atatürk.

Two E-minibuses were procured.

A/C and D/C electric vehicle charging stations were installed.

Electric wheelchair charging stations were installed.

With these two projects, Bornova Municipality implemented concrete practices in the areas of climate change adaptation, renewable energy, water management, and sustainable transportation, and strengthened its institutional capacity.
