Women’s Craftsmanship Meets Art in Bornova

The exhibition “One Stitch, A Thousand Stories – Embroidery and Patchwork Exhibition,” organized by the Bornova Branch of the Atatürkist Thought Association (ADD) and hosted by Bornova Municipality, met visitors at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Uğur Mumcu Culture and Arts Center.

Open from May 18–21, 2026, the exhibition showcased months of dedicated work by course participants.

The display featured numerous works ranging from traditional motifs to modern designs. Colorful fabrics, delicate embroidery, decorative panels, and practical handmade items received great appreciation from visitors.

Particularly noteworthy were the pieces created from recycled fabrics, combining sustainability with artistic expression and demonstrating that handicrafts remain an important part of contemporary production.

The exhibition opening was attended by ADD Bornova Branch President Mübeccel Timaç and Deputy Mayor Cem Arıkan. Guests congratulated both instructors and participants for their contributions.

“One Stitch, A Thousand Stories” attracted considerable interest as a powerful example of craftsmanship, solidarity, and cultural production.
