100 Credits Loaded onto Kent Market Cards

Ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Bornova Municipality loaded an additional 100 credits onto the Kent Market cards of residents in need. Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the municipality will continue to strengthen solidarity throughout Bornova. Through its seven Kent Market branches across the district, regular support is provided to approximately 3,500 families every month.

Bornova Municipality has provided an additional 100-credit allowance to the Kent Market cards of residents in need before Eid al-Adha. Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the primary aim of the support is to ease citizens’ daily lives during the holiday period, saying:

"Through our Kent Markets, we continue to provide regular assistance to our residents in need. With this additional 100-credit allocation ahead of Eid al-Adha, we are helping our citizens access essential necessities more easily. We will continue to strengthen solidarity in Bornova."

Kent Markets: A Strong Model of Social Municipalism in Bornova

The Kent Market system established by Bornova Municipality operates through seven branches across the district, providing residents in need with access to essential food, cleaning supplies, and household products. Offering neighborhood-based accessibility, the system allows beneficiaries to shop using a card-based system in a market environment, creating a modern and dignified social assistance model.

With branches spread throughout Bornova, the Kent Market program provides regular support to 3,500 families. Additional credit allocations during holidays and special occasions further reinforce social solidarity.

The model is also recognized as one of Turkey’s pioneering examples of social municipalism and is considered an inspirational practice for similar social assistance projects nationwide. In this respect, the Kent Market system has become not only a support mechanism but also a symbol of solidarity-focused local governance.
