Mayor Eşki Starts the Day with Early-Morning Inspections

Bornova Municipality’s enforcement teams conducted comprehensive inspections targeting bakeries and sidewalk encroachments. During the operation, which began at midnight and continued until the first light of dawn, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki personally joined the teams. Businesses that failed to comply with regulations were penalized, and items obstructing pedestrian access were removed one by one.

Strict Inspections from Kazım Karabekir to the Bayraklı Border

Bornova Municipality’s Directorate of Municipal Police launched a major inspection campaign to maintain public order and protect public health throughout the district. Starting on Kazım Karabekir Avenue and continuing along Mustafa Kemal Avenue to the Bayraklı border, the operation focused on the district’s main thoroughfares. The inspections began at midnight, with a firm commitment to ensuring that residents can live in a peaceful and safe urban environment.

Hygiene and Public Order: Bakeries and Sidewalks Inspected

While checking bakeries for product weight, hygiene standards, and operating licenses to protect residents’ access to safe and properly measured food, municipal police teams also intervened against sidewalk encroachments that violate pedestrians’ right of way.

Cones, pennants, flags, and other advertising or barrier materials blocking pedestrian walkways and making it difficult to pass along the two major avenues were collected and removed one by one. Bakeries and other businesses that failed to comply were issued the necessary warnings, while those that persisted in violating the rules were penalized.

Mayor Eşki: “We Will Stay on the Ground Until We Restore Unobstructed Sidewalks to Our Residents”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, who welcomed the first light of day at the inspection site, made important statements following the operation. Emphasizing the municipality’s determination to protect pedestrian rights and maintain urban order since taking office, Mayor Eşki said:

“We welcomed the first rays of sunlight at the Bayraklı border. Starting at the Manisa Junction and continuing all the way here, we cleared all illegally occupied areas and removed every obstacle preventing residents from passing along the main avenue. We also carried out inspections at bakeries.

“We are pleased to see that bakeries have improved their practices compared with the past and are operating much more carefully. This is a great source of satisfaction for us.

“Inspections throughout our district will continue frequently and without interruption. We will remain out on the streets and at our posts until we have completely removed every obstacle standing in our residents’ way and restored unobstructed sidewalks for everyone.”
