Mayor Eşki Meets with Residents in Yeşilova

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki continued his field visits in Yeşilova Neighborhood as part of the “Common Mind and On-Site Solutions” principle he has adopted. Aiming to identify problems not from his office but directly on site, Mayor Eşki walked through Yeşilova street by street and listened to the requests of neighborhood residents.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki continues his fieldwork at full speed to identify the district’s investment and service needs on site, hear about the longstanding problems of neighborhoods directly from residents, and maintain close contact with citizens. His latest stop was Yeşilova Neighborhood, one of Bornova’s long-established settlements.

Yeşilova Neighborhood Head Sevda Korkmaz and the relevant department managers of Bornova Municipality accompanied Mayor Eşki during the visit. During the field tour, which began in the early morning hours, all of the neighborhood’s needs were reviewed, ranging from infrastructure and superstructure to parks, green spaces and social services.

“We Manage Bornova from the Streets, Through a Common Mind”

Visiting local businesses one by one and meeting residents in neighborhood coffeehouses over tea and conversation, Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that “on-site management” and “rapid solutions” are at the heart of their approach to local government. Mayor Eşki said:

“In our approach to municipal service, decisions are not made in offices; they are made among the people of Bornova. We walked through Yeşilova street by street and listened directly to the requests of our tradespeople and residents. Our goal is to provide equal, fair and high-quality services to every corner of Bornova. We know the shortcomings of our neighborhood and have a clear understanding of what our residents expect. We are here with the managers of all our departments because we want to resolve the problems we identify directly and immediately, without allowing bureaucratic obstacles to stand in the way. We will continue to manage Bornova from the streets, through a common mind.”

Street-by-Street Inspections with the Neighborhood Head and Municipal Officials

During the field inspection carried out together with Yeşilova Neighborhood Head Sevda Korkmaz, particular attention was given to street renovation works, cleaning services and the modernization of children’s playgrounds. Mayor Eşki took note of the requests conveyed by Neighborhood Head Korkmaz and immediately instructed the relevant department managers, promising that the deficiencies would be addressed as soon as possible.

Residents of Yeşilova expressed their satisfaction at seeing the mayor and his team in their neighborhood and thanked Mayor Eşki for his close attention and dynamic approach to addressing local needs.
