Semester Break in Bornova Brightened by Theatre

Children Met Art for Two Weeks

Bornova Municipality organized a series of colorful theatre events for children during the 2025–2026 academic year midterm break. Starting on January 19, children’s plays prepared around different themes were staged free of charge for two weeks at municipal venues across Bornova.

Entertainment and Education Together

While enjoying themselves during the semester break, children also had the opportunity to learn values such as sharing, love of nature, healthy living, peace, and affection through theatre. The young audiences who filled the halls showed great enthusiasm for the performances.

Children’s Theatre Across Bornova

The plays staged during the holiday and the venues where they were performed were as follows:
Forest of Happiness – Mevlana Community and Science Center
The Child Who Talks to the Wind – Naldöken Cultural Center
The Vitamin Kingdom – Çamdibi Martyr Er Adem Bilaloğlu Social Facilities
The Farm of Love – Dr. Sırrı Aydoğan Cultural Center
The Tailed Heroes – Altındağ Atatürk NGO Campus
Long Live Peace – Uğur Mumcu Cultural and Art Center

Mayor Eşki: “Children’s Smiles Are the Best Holiday Memory”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of bringing children together with art during the semester break, stating:
“We place great importance on our children both having fun during the holidays and growing up with art. Theatre is one of the most valuable fields that strengthens imagination and empathy. We will continue to work to ensure equal access to art for every child in Bornova.”
