Mayor Ömer Eşki Breaks Fast with Residents of Kızılay Neighborhood

Ömer Eşki, Mayor of Bornova Belediyesi, shared his iftar meal with neighborhood residents at the Kızılay Kent Lokantası. Emphasizing that the month of Ramadan is a time for sharing and unity, Eşki stated that the municipality will continue to support citizens in need and strengthen social municipal services. Bornova Municipality distributes iftar meals to 2,000 people every weekday through its City Restaurants and metro stations.

Mayor Ömer Eşki experienced the spirit of solidarity during Ramadan together with residents of Kızılay Mahallesi. At the iftar gathering held at the Kızılay City Restaurant, the mayor sat at the same table with neighborhood residents alongside Neighborhood Head (Muhtar) Esra Girgör. Municipal council members and municipal administrators also attended the gathering.

Before and after the iftar meal, Mayor Eşki spoke with residents and listened to their requests and suggestions. Citizens expressed their gratitude for the City Restaurant and City Butcher (Kent Kasap) initiatives introduced to the neighborhood, noting that these services are particularly important for low-income families.

“We Will Continue to Strengthen Solidarity”

Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that Ramadan is a month of sharing and togetherness, saying:

“Ramadan is the month of gathering at the same table and sharing our bread. Every day we come together with thousands of our fellow citizens at our City Restaurants. Our goal is not only to provide meals but also to strengthen solidarity and build a Bornova where no one feels alone. We will continue to stand by citizens in need and reinforce our social municipal policies.”

Iftar Meals for 2,000 People at City Restaurants and Metro Stations

Bornova Municipality continues to expand social solidarity throughout the month of Ramadan. In the Çamdibi Kent Lokantası, Doğanlar Kent Lokantası, and Kızılay Kent Lokantası, 1,000 people receive iftar meals every weekday.

Additionally, for citizens who cannot make it home in time for iftar, 1,000 meal packages are distributed each weekday at Bornova Metro Station, Evka-3 Metro Station, and Stadyum Metro Station. In this way, support is provided both at fixed locations and along transportation routes.

Iftar Tables Prepared in the City Kitchen

The iftar menus are carefully prepared by professional chefs in Bornova Municipality’s City Kitchen. Meals are cooked in accordance with hygiene and quality standards and provide hundreds of citizens with warm and healthy iftar meals every day.
