Asphalt paving between Ankara Boulevard and Üniversite Avenue

Bornova Municipality has launched road improvement works in the area between Ankara Boulevard and Üniversite Avenue. As part of the project, asphalt paving has been carried out on 296/1 Street, while upcoming phases will include sidewalk arrangements, parking areas, and specialized lighting. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the works on site and stated that their goal is to make transportation more comfortable across the district.

Bornova Municipality continues its roadwork efforts across streets and avenues to improve transportation comfort and strengthen the city’s aesthetic appeal. In this context, a comprehensive redevelopment project has begun in the area between Ankara Boulevard and Üniversite Avenue.

In the first phase of the project, asphalt paving was completed on 296/1 Street. In the following stages, sidewalks will be redesigned, parking areas will be created, and the area will be enhanced with special lighting to ensure a safer and more visually appealing environment.

The Area Is Becoming a New Attraction Center

Once dominated mainly by industrial facilities, the area has been undergoing rapid transformation in recent years, with a growing number of residential developments. It is now emerging as one of Bornova’s new attraction centers.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the site with relevant department officials to review the progress and receive updates on the works.

Mayor Eşki: “We are making transportation more comfortable”

Emphasizing that the works will both ease transportation and enhance the city’s appearance, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that they are prioritizing infrastructure and superstructure investments in rapidly developing areas of Bornova.

“This area is transforming into a zone where residential development is increasing alongside industrial use. In line with this growth, we are renewing roads, organizing sidewalks, creating parking spaces, and establishing a safer and more aesthetic urban environment through lighting works,” he said.

Mayor Eşki also underlined that efforts to improve transportation and livability will continue uninterrupted in all neighborhoods of Bornova.
