Healthy Aging Center Opens the Doors to an Active and Happy Life in Later Years

The Healthy Aging Training Programs launched by Bornova Municipality continue to improve the quality of life for elderly citizens. As part of the program, the Creative Drama Training led by instructor Fatih Ay enables participants to express themselves while strengthening their social connections.

Held every Friday between 15:00 and 16:30 at the Youth Center located in Bornova Büyük Park, the sessions attract significant interest. With their engaging and educational content, the activities provide enjoyable moments while also contributing to participants’ mental and emotional development.

Imagination, communication, and solidarity together

Through creative drama activities, participants enhance their imagination, improve communication skills, and reinforce a sense of solidarity within the group. The program aims not only to provide a way to spend time but also to support older individuals in leading productive and active lives.

A rich program of activities throughout the week

Activities at the Healthy Aging Center are held four days a week, offering participants a wide range of options. The program includes choir sessions, rhythm workshops, handicrafts, physical exercise programs, game workshops, drama classes, and chess activities. Conducted by expert teams, these activities aim to support both the physical and psychological well-being of participants.

Healthy aging as a lifestyle

With its social and cultural projects addressing all segments of society, Bornova Municipality continues to set an example of progressive local governance. The program emphasizes that healthy aging is not merely the absence of illness, but the continuation of physical, mental, and social well-being.

In line with this approach, the center opens the door to an active, productive, and socially engaged life for its citizens.
