Bornova Municipality is transforming the road to the heart of Pınarbaşı into a modern, comfortable route

Bornova Municipality has expanded Pınar Street, which connects Kemalpaşa Street to Pınarbaşı center, into four lanes and completed sidewalk, drainage grate, and intersection arrangements. The Değirmenaltı area, home to many wedding halls, has been made more comfortable, while modern lighting and landscaping will give the street a brand-new appearance. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the project will change the face of Pınarbaşı.

Bornova Municipality is in the final stages of road renewal works on Pınar Street, which starts from Kemalpaşa Street and reaches the center of Pınarbaşı. As one of the district’s key transportation routes, the street is being upgraded with modern touches to become safer, more comfortable, and more aesthetically pleasing.

Wider, safer road

As part of the works, Pınar Street was divided by a median and expanded to four lanes — two in each direction. Sidewalks and stormwater grates were renewed, and aesthetically designed concrete bollards were placed to prevent vehicle parking on sidewalks.

Değirmenaltı area renewed

The historic Değirmenaltı area, where wedding halls are densely located, has been redesigned for greater comfort for both pedestrians and drivers. Intersection arrangements were also made on the road leading toward Çamlık Park from the same street.

Final touches with lighting and landscaping

Modern lighting poles will be installed, and the infrastructure for irrigation systems in landscaped areas will be completed. After these final touches, the renewed road will be opened for public use.

“Pınarbaşı is one of Bornova’s most important areas in terms of both history and commerce. We are carrying out a comprehensive project, from road arrangements to landscaping, lighting, and infrastructure, to improve the quality of life here. Our aim is to offer our citizens a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing living space. Once completed, Pınar Street will completely change the face of Pınarbaşı.”
