Young Cyclists Give Full Marks to the New Bicycle Performance Park

Bornova Municipality is nearing completion on the 11-decare Bicycle Performance Park under construction in Yeşilova Neighborhood. Emphasizing that the project will become one of İzmir’s most beautiful parks, Mayor Ömer Eşki shared the excitement of young cycling enthusiasts who look forward to a safe and fun riding environment. The park is expected to open soon.

Located on 4088th Street in Yeşilova Neighborhood, the Bicycle Performance Park is being built on an area of 11,000 square meters. During his site visit to inspect the ongoing work, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that the park would not only serve as a sports facility but also as a social gathering hub for the community.

Pump Track Track, Social Space, and Safe Riding Fun

Featuring İzmir’s first pump track bicycle course, the park is specifically designed to allow young people and athletes to train in a secure setting. Mayor Eşki noted that the project stands out both architecturally and functionally, saying:

“We’re building one of the most beautiful parks in İzmir right here. With its bicycle performance zone and pump track course, this project will be one of the signature developments of our administration. Every geometric detail has been designed to ensure the safety of its users. Very soon, Bornova and İzmir residents will enjoy a unique and exciting park. We’re eagerly awaiting the opening.”

Youth Appreciation: “We Won’t Need to Go Anywhere Else”

Alperen Yılmaz, a young cyclist from the neighborhood, expressed his excitement upon meeting Mayor Eşki at the park site:

“The park is looking amazing—I really like it. Now we won’t need to go to other places. All cycling enthusiasts will come here. Thank you so much for this, Mr. Mayor.”

High Praise from Prof. Dr. Sındır

Prof. Dr. Kamil Okyay Sındır—former Mayor of Bornova, three-term Member of Parliament, and former CHP Secretary General—also visited the Bicycle Performance Park with Mayor Eşki. After reviewing the site, Sındır shared his thoughts:

“This is a truly special investment for Bornova. It’s inspiring to see such meaningful projects designed for our youth. Congratulations on this impressive achievement.”
