Next-Generation Seating Areas for Bornova’s Parks

18 August 2025

Bornova Municipality is equipping parks across the district with covered benches that allow residents to spend time outdoors comfortably while being protected from the sun and rain. The first 50 benches, produced entirely with the municipality’s own resources at the Directorate of Public Works’ workshop, highlight both functionality and aesthetics. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the project will transform parks into more livable and visually appealing spaces.

Bornova Municipality has designed covered benches with face-to-face seating arrangements to be installed in different parks across the district. From the iron framework to the wooden cutting, from assembly to polishing, the entire production process is being carried out meticulously at the municipal workshop. These new benches, where residents can both rest and spend time with their loved ones, stand out with their modern design and durable structure. As the benches are installed in designated areas, they will also add an aesthetic touch to the cityscape.

Mayor Eşki: “We are making Bornova more livable”
Emphasizing that the project was implemented not only with an aesthetic perspective but also with a focus on public benefit, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:
“Bornova’s parks are not just green spaces; they are places for building neighborly relations, conversations, and relaxation. That’s why the time spent in these spaces should be more enjoyable, more comfortable, and more sustainable. With this approach, we are producing next-generation benches entirely with our own resources, using the municipality’s production capacity. These benches, which protect from both the sun and rain, will allow our residents to enjoy the outdoors even more. Because in Bornova, we are not only producing urban furniture — we are producing comfort and shade as well.”
