In response to Bornova’s growing population and increasing service needs, the Bornova Municipality has recruited 15 new municipal police officers, all of whom are university graduates. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the recruitment process was entirely impartial, fair, and based on merit. To meet the demands brought by the growing population and daily activity in the city, Bornova Municipality has appointed 15 new municipal police officers. Secure Service for a Daily Population of One Million

With a resident population of over 450,000, Bornova welcomes more than one million people daily due to its universities, industrial zones, and hospitals. This density makes the role of municipal police even more crucial in maintaining urban order. This recruitment—one of the first in years—addresses a significant need in the district.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stressed that the hiring process was fair, transparent, and entirely free from political influence. Recruitment was based solely on merit and performance. “Bornova is now a major city, and our current municipal police force was struggling to keep up,” said Mayor Eşki. “We need more personnel, but we took this first step based on merit. The real winner will be the people of Bornova.”
