Exam Marathon in Bornova Starts with BELGEM

BELGEM, which provides free educational support under Bornova Municipality, has started the 2025–2026 Academic Year with an accelerated program. At the center, which will benefit around 2,000 students this year, all study materials are provided free of charge, along with mock exams and guidance support.

Bornova Municipality Youth Education Center (BELGEM) welcomed the new school year with an intensive program. Within the scope of the program designed for YKS and LYS exam groups, students will attend a total of 40 hours of classes over two weeks, from Monday to Friday, between 09:00–12:00. Starting September 8, when schools officially reopen, the program will return to its normal schedule across all grade levels. This year, BELGEM’s weekly holidays will again be Sunday and Monday.

Free Educational Support at All Levels
At BELGEM, English lessons are offered for 4th and 5th graders, while students from 6th grade to graduates receive courses across various subjects. While 1,800 students have already registered this year, with additional enrollments the number is expected to reach 2,000.

Free Study Materials, Mock Exams, and Guidance
All course materials are provided free of charge to students at the center. Regular monthly mock exams are held, and guidance counselors provide one-on-one support, especially for exam groups. BELGEM is open only to students who either reside in Bornova or study in schools within the district.

A Strong Educational Staff
This year, BELGEM continues its educational services with a staff of 55, including 46 teachers and 3 administrators. In addition, there are 2 cleaning staff, 2 security personnel, and 2 canteen workers. For the first time this year, a canteen has been opened for students’ use.

“Equal opportunity in education is our top priority. At BELGEM, we provide quality education free of charge. From study materials to mock exams, from guidance services to social spaces, we have thought of everything. We will continue to stand by our young people on their journey toward their dreams.”
