Çamdibi’s Priorities Discussed Around the Same Table

As part of Bornova Municipality’s monthly Regional Headmen Meetings, local headmen from the Çamdibi region came together to discuss the needs and priorities of their neighborhoods. The meeting provided an opportunity to review completed projects while addressing new requests and ongoing issues with the participation of the relevant municipal departments.

The meeting, held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Uğur Mumcu Culture and Arts Center, was attended by the neighborhood headmen of Egemenlik, Işıklar, Yeşilova, Çınar, Yıldırım Beyazıt, Barbaros, Gaziosmanpaşa, Rafetpaşa, and Karacaoğlan. Deputy mayors and representatives from the Municipality’s Departments of Cleaning Services, Public Works, Parks and Gardens, Municipal Police, and other relevant departments also participated.

Previously completed works requested by the neighborhoods were reviewed one by one, while comprehensive discussions were held on infrastructure, road and pavement improvements, parks and green spaces, cleaning services, environmental arrangements, and other issues affecting daily life. New requests submitted by the headmen were recorded by the relevant departments, and the necessary action plans were initiated.

Problems Identified on Site, Solutions Produced Quickly

Bornova Municipality continues to hold Regional Headmen Meetings on a regular basis in five different areas each month: the Central District, Çamdibi, Pınarbaşı, Altındağ, and the rural neighborhoods. This system enables priority issues to be evaluated directly with the responsible municipal units while closely monitoring the implementation of agreed solutions. It also strengthens coordination between the municipality and neighborhood headmen, ensuring that public services are delivered more efficiently and effectively.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that neighborhood headmen are among the municipality’s most important partners in local governance.

To ensure that every neighborhood in Bornova receives equal and high-quality services, we meet regularly, listen directly to local needs, and work together with our municipal departments to develop solutions. In line with our participatory approach to local governance, we will continue managing our neighborhoods together and solving problems through collective wisdom.”
