Unauthorized Signs Removed from Çiçekliköy and Yakaköy

Teams from the Bornova Municipality Municipal Police Department removed unauthorized signs causing visual pollution in Çiçekliköy and Yakaköy while also conducting inspections of local businesses. Emphasizing the municipality’s commitment to preserving the city’s visual identity, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that practices harming the area's natural character will not be tolerated.

The Municipal Police Department carried out a comprehensive environmental enforcement operation in Çiçekliköy and Yakaköy, two of Bornova’s most popular rural tourism destinations. In areas that attract large numbers of visitors, especially on weekends, illegally placed signs and advertising boards attached to roadsides, trees, and utility poles were systematically removed. The operation eliminated visual clutter along routes lined with restaurants, breakfast venues, and countryside wedding facilities.

Strict Inspections for New Businesses

In addition to removing unauthorized signage, municipal police teams carried out simultaneous inspections of newly opened businesses in the area. Breakfast venues, countryside wedding facilities, and other commercial establishments were inspected to ensure compliance with regulations, including licensing requirements and permitted occupancy boundaries.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining urban order and protecting nature, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:

We welcome the growth of commercial activity in these areas, but we cannot allow anyone to damage the natural environment or create visual pollution through unauthorized signage. We will continue our field inspections without interruption to preserve the city’s aesthetic character and provide our residents with a cleaner, more orderly, and more enjoyable living environment.”
