Midnight Bakery Inspections Begin Again in Bornova

12 September 2025

Mayor Eşki: “Our Citizens Deserve Safe and Healthy Food”

Bornova Municipality has resumed early-morning bakery inspections to ensure food safety. During the latest operation, which started at 4:00 a.m., 7 bakeries in Kazım Dirik Neighborhood’s Küçükpark, Büyükpark, and Mustafa Kemal Avenue were inspected. Mayor Ömer Eşki personally joined the inspections, where hygiene standards, production conditions, licenses, and bread weights were closely examined.

Businesses that failed to comply with hygiene rules faced penalties, and serious violations were reported to the District Directorate of Agriculture.

Mayor Eşki stated:
“With the opening of schools, we launched our first inspections in Küçükpark and Mustafa Kemal Avenue. Unfortunately, we again encountered some unwanted conditions. These inspections will continue regularly. Our goal is to ensure that citizens have access to the healthy food they deserve.”

In a previous round of inspections in December 2024, Bornova Municipality had checked 133 bakeries across the district, with Mayor Eşki also actively participating on site.
