Mayor Ömer Eşki Meets with Neighborhood Headmen

“We Govern Bornova Together”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki met with neighborhood headmen (muhtars) from across the district, sharing the projects implemented since he took office as well as those planned for the upcoming period. Emphasizing the importance of mutual communication and cooperation, Eşki stated that their goal is to make Bornova a more livable district. The headmen, in turn, expressed their concerns, suggestions, and requests, and thanked the municipality for its ongoing efforts.

Mayor Ömer Eşki met with the headmen at the Prof. Dr. Kamil Okyay Sındır Additional Service Building Meeting Hall. Relevant municipal administrators also attended the meeting.

Since assuming office, Mayor Eşki has overseen numerous initiatives in areas ranging from road and infrastructure works to social projects and support programs. During the meeting, he shared both the projects already implemented and the plans for the coming period with the headmen.

In his remarks, Mayor Eşki underscored the crucial role of headmen in local governance, emphasizing that through reciprocal communication and collaboration, they aim to make Bornova a more attractive and livable district. He noted that feedback from the field plays a guiding role in shaping municipal policies and highlighted the importance of collective wisdom in decision-making processes.

During the meeting, the headmen took the floor to raise neighborhood-specific issues, as well as their suggestions and requests. They thanked Mayor Eşki and the municipal teams for their work and stressed the importance of such solution-oriented and dialogue-based gatherings.
