Bornova Municipality continues its road renewal and asphalt paving works in the Çamdibi area as part of its efforts to provide a more comfortable and modern transportation network throughout the district. As part of these efforts, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki inspected the asphalt paving works on 5122 Street in Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighborhood and received information from the technical team.

Interlocking paving stones are being replaced with comfortable asphalt

Bornova Municipality has taken action to address the long-standing complaints of Çamdibi residents regarding roads and sidewalks made of interlocking paving stones and is renewing the area from the ground up. Old paving surfaces that cause dust, mud, and deterioration are being removed and replaced with durable hot-mix asphalt that provides a smoother and more comfortable driving experience.

“We still have a long way to go, and there is much more work to be done”

Speaking to the people of Çamdibi during his site inspection and emphasizing their determination to complete the works, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said:

“Street improvement works in Çamdibi are continuing at full speed. Our overall target for the area was to pave a total of 282 streets with asphalt. As of today, we are about to complete the asphalt paving on our 15th street. We still have a long way to go, and there is much more work to be done for Bornova. Nevertheless, we will fulfill the promise we made to our citizens with determination. The people of Çamdibi had long-standing complaints about the old interlocking-paved roads here. During the election period, we promised to resolve this issue and replace them with comfortable asphalt roads. Today, we remain committed to that promise, and we will keep our word to the people of Çamdibi.”

A participatory administration committed to its promises

Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that they would continue working day and night to provide equal and high-quality services to every neighborhood in Bornova. Residents expressed their satisfaction with the start of the long-awaited asphalt works and the transformation of the roads into a more modern condition, thanking Mayor Eşki for the improvements.
