Bornova Municipality to Celebrate May 19 with a Youth Festival

Bornova Municipality will celebrate May 19th, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, with a Youth Festival taking place between May 13–16, 2025. The festival will be filled with sports, health, and music activities. The grand finale will feature a cortege march followed by a live performance by the band Grup Seksendört in Bornova Cumhuriyet Square. Mayor Ömer Eşki has invited all young people and Bornova residents to join the festive celebrations.

A Four-Day Festival Full of Energy

The municipality is preparing for a vibrant and inclusive celebration that will span four days, honoring the spirit, energy, and creativity of youth. Events will take place in two of Bornova’s most iconic spots — Küçükpark Square and Cumhuriyet Square — and will offer a wide range of engaging activities for everyone.

Grup Seksendört to Meet Fans

On the final night of the festival, popular Turkish band Grup Seksendört will perform live, bringing music lovers together in Bornova. Prior to the concert, a large cortege march will start from Küçükpark and end at Cumhuriyet Square, spreading the spirit and enthusiasm of youth throughout the district.

Mayor Eşki’s Invitation to Join the Celebration

Speaking about the upcoming festival, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated:

“May 19 is not just a holiday; it’s a manifesto of freedom and independence. We’ve prepared a festival that matches this spirit with the energy of our youth. As a city of students, Bornova will host a joyful and healthy celebration for Youth Day. I invite all young people, their families, and the people of Bornova to join our events.”
