150,000 Summer Vegetable Seedlings Distributed

Bornova Municipality distributed a total of 150,000 summer vegetable seedlings—including tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants—to producers in 12 rural neighborhoods across the district. The seedlings, prepared according to the needs of local producers, were delivered directly within each neighborhood. The initiative aimed to support agricultural production by reducing costs for farmers. Following the highly popular distribution, producers expressed their satisfaction, while Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the municipality would continue standing by local producers.

Supporting Production in Rural Neighborhoods and Reducing Costs

Bornova Municipality launched its summer vegetable seedling distribution program to support rural development and ease the burden of rising agricultural input costs on producers. Within the scope of the initiative carried out in 12 rural neighborhoods across the district, a total of 150,000 vegetable seedlings—including tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, and eggplants—were distributed to farmers.

Seedlings Delivered Directly to Producers

Prepared by the Bornova Municipality Directorate of Agricultural Services in line with producers’ requests, the seedlings were distributed directly within each neighborhood and personally delivered to farmers. Thanks to this practice, producers saved time and gained easy access to the seedlings they needed.

Traditional Support Receives Strong Interest

The summer vegetable seedling distribution program, which has become a tradition of Bornova Municipality, once again attracted great interest this year. Producers stated that the support helped make their agricultural activities more sustainable while also easing financial pressures caused by production costs. Citizens and neighborhood headmen receiving the seedlings thanked Bornova Municipality for its support.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of maintaining production in rural neighborhoods, stating:
