İzmir residents will gather at Aşık Veysel Recreation Area on April 23

Bornova Municipality is set to celebrate National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with its Traditional Kite Festival at the Aşık Veysel Recreation Area. The event will feature a full day of concerts, performances, and various activities for children. Mayor Ömer Eşki invited all children and families to join this colorful celebration.

The festival will offer a wide range of activities, from workshops to stage performances. Children can enjoy games, inflatable playgrounds, balloon art, face painting, and fun treats throughout the day.

Full-day program of colorful events

The stage schedule is planned as follows:

  • 14:30 – Municipal Children’s Choir Concert
  • 15:15 – Municipal Children’s Folk Dance Group
  • 15:30 – Puppet Show
  • 16:00 – Magic Show
  • 16:30 – Fun moments with Alp Abi
  • 17:00 – Bubble Show

With activities designed for children of all ages, the celebration will bring the festive spirit of April 23 to its peak in Bornova.

Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that April 23 is not only a holiday but also a symbol of hope for the future:
“Our children’s joy and dreams are our greatest source of inspiration. Their smiles are the most beautiful sound of Bornova. We invite all children and their families to join our festival on this special day. Let’s color the sky together.”

He also noted that such events contribute to children’s social development and reaffirmed that Bornova Municipality will continue to prioritize child-focused projects.

The Traditional Kite Festival, which attracts great interest every year, will once again bring families together. The sky will be filled with colorful kites, and the spirit of April 23 will be celebrated collectively in Bornova.
