Friendship Takes the Field at Bornova Municipality

The Interdepartmental Astroturf Football Tournament, organized to strengthen unity, solidarity, and teamwork within Bornova Municipality, has officially begun. The opening match was played between the Directorate of Public Works and the Private Secretariat Directorate, with the kick-off taken by Ömer Eşki.

With the participation of 17 departments, the tournament will continue with matches held on weekdays between 12:00 and 13:00 at the Bornova Büyük Park Astroturf Facilities. The organization will conclude with the final match on May 25, 2026.

Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the tournament is more than just a sporting event, stating:
“These kinds of organizations strengthen communication among our employees while also enhancing team spirit and solidarity. We believe that the friendships built on the field will positively reflect in our professional lives as well.”

A total of 17 different departments will compete in matches where both competition and friendship take center stage. Fair play, team spirit, and internal cohesion will be prioritized throughout the tournament.
