Bornova Misket Grape is Growing Again in Its Own Soil

As Bornova Municipality, we have taken an important step to bring the geographically indicated Bornova Misket Grape back into production. The first saplings have reached the soil in the 11-acre Bornova Misket Vineyard we established in our Kayadibi Neighborhood.

In the project we are carrying out in cooperation with Manisa Viticulture Research Institute, we are providing sapling, training, infrastructure and purchase guarantee support to our producers. Misket Grape will come to life again all around Bornova with the new vineyards to be established in Çamiçi, Beşyol, Yaka and Kayadibi neighborhoods.

This project, which prioritizes women producers, will both support local agriculture and carry Bornova's agricultural heritage into the future.
