Izmir Literature Museum Library

The library, which opened in September 2021, includes special collections consisting of works by writers who were born in Izmir or lived in the region for many years and integrated with the region, as well as works written about them, books in line with the philosophy of museum librarianship, facsimiles of manuscripts produced in that region, objects belonging to writers (tools such as pens, typewriters, etc. used by writers). The first edition of Atatürk's book Geometry, dated 1937, the book signed by Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil to his nephew Ali Ekrem in 1934, and Atilla İlhan's cap are among the works to be seen in the museum. The building where the museum library is located is the Tristram Mansion, a Levantine mansion built in 1904. There is also an insect museum in one of the rooms of the mansion. It can be visited every weekday between 08.30-17.30.
