On-Site Evaluation of Critical Areas by Mayor Eşki and İZSU General Manager Erdoğan

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki conducted on-site inspections of ongoing works across the district together with İZSU General Manager Gürkan Erdoğan. While İZSU’s infrastructure investments and Bornova Municipality’s superstructure improvements were assessed in coordination, needs were identified and upcoming works were planned. During the inspections, citizens’ requests and opinions were also listened to on site.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, accompanied by İZSU General Manager Gürkan Erdoğan, examined the infrastructure and superstructure works underway on key arteries of the district. The field program, covering Mustafa Kemal Avenue, the Küçükpark area, and Çamdibi Burak Reis Avenue, addressed completed and ongoing projects in a comprehensive manner.

Coordinated Work from Infrastructure to Superstructure

As part of the inspections, the extensive infrastructure investments carried out by İZSU and the subsequent superstructure arrangements implemented by Bornova Municipality were observed on site. Field evaluations identified current needs, shortcomings, and additional works required, followed by mutual consultations.

Citizens’ Views Heard on Site

During the program, meetings were held with local residents and shopkeepers to hear their demands and suggestions. The impacts of the works on daily life, expectations, and solution proposals were assessed directly on site. Relevant officials from both Bornova Municipality and İZSU also participated in the inspections.

Mayor Eşki: “We Are Producing Permanent Solutions in Bornova”

Following the field inspections, Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized the importance of inter-institutional coordination in infrastructure and superstructure works, stating: “We are in strong cooperation with İZSU to eliminate Bornova’s long-standing infrastructure problems through permanent solutions. We know that it is not right to carry out superstructure works before completing infrastructure. Therefore, we plan the process together on site and identify needs at their source. Our goal is to create a safe and comfortable urban infrastructure that Bornova residents will use without problems for many years.”

Mayor Eşki underlined that citizens’ opinions are the most important part of the process and stated that the works will continue with a planned, transparent, and participatory approach.
