In Bornova, Pots Simmer with Love
Kent Mutfak Delivers Hot Meals to Residents’ Doorsteps Every Day
With its Kent Mutfak community kitchen locations, Bornova Municipality goes beyond providing affordable meals and becomes a vital source of support for residents in need. In line with its social municipal governance vision, the municipality prepares fresh, hot meals every day for elderly, disabled, and bedridden residents who are unable to cook for themselves. Municipal teams deliver these meals free of charge directly to their homes.
Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said, “We stand by our people in both difficult times and good times. While delivering hot meals every day to households identified by our Social Services Directorate, we also provide meal support to bereaved families during their times of grief.”
A Campaign of Compassion in Bornova: 85 Hot Meals Delivered Daily to 70 Households
Bornova Municipality continues to strengthen its social assistance network. While offering residents affordable meal options through its Kent Mutfak branches across the district, the municipality also ensures that disadvantaged groups are not overlooked.
Every morning, the kitchens at Kent Mutfak begin preparing meals for Bornova residents who are unable to cook for themselves due to physical limitations or health conditions. The menus are prepared under hygienic conditions, with calorie and nutritional values calculated under the supervision of professional dietitians. The meals are then packed into traditional food containers and delivered regularly to the homes of residents in need by Bornova Municipality’s dedicated distribution vehicles.
Mayor Eşki: “Being in the Prayers of Our Elderly and Patients Is Our Greatest Happiness”
Emphasizing that social services are a cornerstone of municipal governance, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated that they are building a Bornova where no one feels alone.
“We are always there for our elderly residents, people with disabilities, and bedridden patients who, unfortunately, are unable to find the strength to prepare their own meals at home. Every day, we deliver 85 hot meals free of charge to 70 households carefully identified by the teams working under our Social Services Directorate, bringing them right to their doors while maintaining the utmost discretion.
Our aim is not simply to provide food, but to bring the warmth, compassion, and spirit of solidarity of Bornova Municipality into these homes.
Moreover, our social solidarity extends beyond these households. We also provide funeral meal support, upon request, to residents living within Bornova who have lost a loved one and are going through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
No one in Bornova is ever alone. We stand together in both good times and bad.”
Solidarity in Times of Grief: Meal Support for Bereaved Families
Bornova Municipality upholds the spirit of community not only in everyday life but also during life’s most difficult moments. To spare families who have lost loved ones and are receiving condolences the additional burden of preparing meals during this challenging period, the municipality has introduced a funeral meal support service that strengthens solidarity throughout the district.
Upon request, condolence meals prepared to the high standards of Bornova Municipality’s Kent Mutfak kitchens are delivered to bereaved families, helping ease their burden and share their grief through the spirit of solidarity.
