Immediate Action from Mayor Eşki!

19 June 2025

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki’s early morning field visit to Erzene Neighborhood led to a significant environmental improvement.

After residents of Bornova complained about rubble being dumped in an area designated as green space between apartment buildings during the urban transformation process, Mayor Eşki personally visited the two affected streets to inspect the situation. Within a few hours, teams from Bornova Municipality’s Directorate of Public Works intervened and completed the cleanup operation. The Directorate of Parks and Gardens has now started working on transforming the area into a park. Mayor Eşki’s hands-on approach will turn the previously abandoned space into a new green area, offering fresh air and recreational space for the people of Erzene Neighborhood.

“We changed the work schedule”

Mayor Ömer Eşki stated, “The situation was unacceptable. We changed the work plans of our Public Works and Parks and Gardens teams to intervene immediately. However, this is not a problem the municipality can solve alone. Just as we keep our homes clean, we must protect our city with the same care. Dumping rubble or trash on the streets harms both the environment and our neighbors. We expect all our citizens to act responsibly on this matter.”
