Mayor Eşki: “Our Elders Are Our Most Precious Plane Trees”

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the residents of Pembe Köşk Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center on Father’s Day, celebrating the occasion and presenting gifts to the seniors. During the meaningful event, performances by young children brought joy and encouragement to the residents. Mayor Eşki emphasized that the wisdom and life experiences of older generations are invaluable guides and reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to social projects that ensure people of all ages can live in comfort and happiness in Bornova.

As part of Father’s Day celebrations, Mayor Ömer Eşki met with the residents of Pembe Köşk Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center, located in Atatürk Neighborhood.

A Bridge of Love Between Generations

Organized by Bornova Municipality’s Directorate of Services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities, the event featured a special performance prepared by kindergarten students from Malazgirt Primary School. The children’s cheerful dances and choreography created touching moments for the residents, filling the facility with a festive atmosphere. The seniors enjoyed spending time with the children, who brought smiles to their faces and made the day truly memorable.

“The Debt We Owe to Our Fathers and Elders Can Never Be Repaid”

During the visit, Mayor Eşki greeted each resident personally, listened to their stories, and presented them with special gifts. Reflecting on the significance of the day, he said:

“I would like to celebrate Father’s Day for all fathers who raised us and guided us through life, as well as for our cherished elders who embrace society with the same care and compassion. It is a great honor for me to be here today with the residents of Pembe Köşk and to receive their heartfelt blessings. The life experiences of our elders are among the most valuable guides that illuminate our path. Supporting our senior citizens and individuals with disabilities is not only a responsibility on special occasions but every day of the year. We will continue to develop social projects that ensure people of every generation can live peacefully and happily in Bornova.”
