BBŞT’s powerful production plays to sold-out audiences

Staged by Bornova Municipality City Theatre (BBŞT), the award-winning play “Forgetting” by Tristan Bernays has been drawing great attention from theatergoers, playing to full houses since its premiere. Focusing on memory, love, and the search for identity, the play features strong performances by Kağan Uluca and Tilbe Taşlı. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki attended the performance together with his wife, Beste Eşki. Due to high demand, the production—staged at the BBŞT Academy—is planned to remain in the repertoire next season.

Premiering last November, “Forgetting” continues to captivate audiences at the Bornova Municipality City Theatre Academy. With its intense emotional narrative and compelling acting, the production has received prolonged applause at every performance.

Powerful Acting and Striking Staging

Directed by Onur Erdoğan, the play stands out with its distinctive staging language and atmosphere. The poster, depicting two confronting silhouettes, symbolizes the conflict between memory and self, effectively reflecting the play’s central theme.

On stage, Kağan Uluca and Tilbe Taşlı bring to life a story built around memory loss, love, identity, and the painful nature of remembering, delivering a deeply dramatic performance. Their acting has been widely praised, with audiences responding with long standing ovations.

“Forgetting” is staged at the BBŞT Academy, named in honor of former Deputy Mayor Zerrin Gençtürk, who passed away in 2021.
