Under the coordination of the Bornova District Governorship and in cooperation with the Bornova Municipality and the District Health Directorate, first aid training sessions for neighborhood heads (muhtars) have been completed as part of the “Bornova First Aid Awareness Project (BİBEP).” The participants received their certificates during a ceremony held at the Bornova Municipality Uğur Mumcu Cultural and Arts Center.

The program, titled “Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support,” was implemented with the participation of Bornova’s muhtars. At the end of the training, certificates were presented in a ceremony attended by Bornova District Governor Muzaffer Şahiner, Bornova Deputy Mayor Cem Arıkan, District Health Director Dr. V. Tevfik Oğuz, Bornova Municipality Head of Muhtarlık Affairs Şahin Doğan, Bornova Muhtarlar Association President Zeki Güler, and many local leaders.

District Governor Muzaffer Şahiner highlighted the strong cooperation between public institutions, local government, and neighborhood leaders in the district, saying:

“We are proud of every single muhtar in Bornova. The coordination and solidarity we have here set an example for 30 districts in İzmir and over 900 districts across Türkiye. We come together at every opportunity to share our challenges and successes — today is another one of those meaningful days.”
