The Names of Sayra & Çınar Live on Through Smiles

The 62nd Library Week Festival, organized in cooperation with Bornova Municipality and the Sayra & Çınar Foundation, was held with strong participation at the Atatürk Library. The event was organized to commemorate siblings Sayra and Çınar, who lost their lives in the 2020 İzmir Earthquake, and offered children a joyful day filled with workshops and games. Ömer Eşki emphasized that such events both strengthen solidarity and inspire hope for children.

Hosted by Bornova Municipality, the festival created colorful and lively scenes. The garden of Atatürk Library was filled with the cheerful voices of children. Organized by the foundation established in memory of Sayra and Çınar, the event combined meaningful remembrance with fun activities.

From workshops to games, joy everywhere

The festival featured a wide range of activities, including creative workshops, fun games, Zumba sessions, face painting, storytelling, and a mini concert. Children both learned and enjoyed themselves in the vibrant, decorated space. Surprise gifts and tasty treats added to the festive atmosphere.

A meaningful gathering, unforgettable memories

The event drew significant interest, with families and children filling the venue. It brought together both remembrance and solidarity, allowing participants to experience emotional and joyful moments while honoring the memory of Sayra and Çınar.
