Mayor Eşki Inspects Işıkkent Livestock Market

Bornova Municipality has completed all preparations to ensure that residents enjoy a peaceful and safe Eid al-Adha. Comprehensive measures have been taken in various areas—from sanitation and municipal police to veterinary services and hygiene inspections at slaughter sites. Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the Işıkkent livestock market on the eve of the holiday to meet with both vendors and citizens.

Inspecting the livestock sales and slaughter areas, Mayor Eşki stated that all relevant municipal departments would be on duty throughout the holiday, adding:

“Our teams will be on duty during the entire holiday. We’re working meticulously in every area—from sanitation and municipal police to veterinary services and hygiene at slaughter sites. I extend my best wishes for a happy Eid to all Bornova residents and hope they enjoy it in good health and peace with their loved ones.”

Sanitation, Inspections, and Health Services on Duty 24/7

The Bornova Municipality Sanitation Department will collect animal waste using special containers in response to resident requests. Slaughter areas will be treated with lime for disinfection. Cleaning operations will continue in two shifts daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM throughout the holiday.

Veterinarians will be present at slaughter sites throughout the holiday to ensure health and safety standards. Meanwhile, municipal police teams will carry out intensive inspections to prevent unauthorized and improper slaughter practices in residential areas.
