The Toy Library: A Symbol of Solidarity and Sharing in Bornova

Bornova Municipality has brought approximately 1,500 toys together with children through the Toy Library it opened at the Altındağ Atatürk Cultural Center for children facing economic difficulties. By borrowing toys, children both have fun and learn the value of sharing. Mayor Ömer Eşki called on all of Bornova to support the project in order to further strengthen solidarity.

Bornova Municipality launched the Toy Library last June at the Altındağ Atatürk Cultural Center to bring joy to children who cannot access toys due to financial hardship. As part of the social responsibility campaign titled “I Played, Now It’s Your Turn,” around 1,500 toys have been delivered to children so far.

Learning to Share at an Early Age

Children benefiting from the Toy Library borrow toys, play with them, and then return them. Through this process, they not only enjoy themselves but also learn the importance of sharing. Young users frequently express the happiness and excitement they experience with the toys they borrow.

Mayor Ömer Eşki: “This Project Demonstrates the Power of Solidarity”

Commenting on the initiative, Mayor Ömer Eşki stated:

“Every child has the right to play. Our Toy Library does more than share toys—it teaches solidarity and the beauty of sharing. We need everyone’s support to grow this project together. Come on, Bornova, let’s embrace this meaningful initiative together!”

Support Needed to Expand Solidarity

The Toy Library serves as a platform that strengthens social solidarity while contributing to children’s development. This movement of solidarity continues to grow with new toy donations. Those who wish to support the project can bring joy to children by donating toys to the library.
