Bornova Municipality organized a variety of events across the district as part of European Mobility Week. While children received training on climate change and waste management, Büyükpark hosted sports activities, Küçükpark came alive with rhythm performances, and women participating in the Urban Gardens program enjoyed a trip to the Yeşilova Mound. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the activities supported both healthy living and environmental awareness.

Climate and waste education for children

At the Waste Collection Center, children attending Bornova Municipality’s Play and Activity Centers participated in training on Climate Change and Waste Management. Accompanied by their mothers, the children also enjoyed playing traditional street games.

Sports and rhythm at Büyükpark and Küçükpark

Another highlight of the week’s events was at Büyükpark, where women took part in aerobics, step, and fitness sessions led by expert trainers. Participants also received body weight and fat measurements. Meanwhile, at Küçükpark, the Bornova Municipality Women’s Rhythm Group took the stage, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience with their lively performance.

From Urban Gardens to Yeşilova Mound

Special programs were also prepared for women benefiting from the Urban Gardens. Participants toured the Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center to learn about the region’s history. At the end of the program, compost prepared during the process was brought together with the soil at Pınarbaşı Urban Garden.
