8 September 2025

A new home for furry friends in Bornova with modern facilities and expert staff

Bornova Municipality’s newly opened Eros Cat Clinic has quickly become a favorite spot for both animal lovers and stray cats, thanks to its modern infrastructure, professional team, and expanded services. With its neutering capacity doubled compared to the previous clinic, no restrictions on consultation hours, and its role as a venue for adoption events and community gatherings, the clinic is drawing great attention. Mayor Ömer Eşki emphasized that the clinic honors the memory of Eros, the cat brutally killed in Istanbul, while protecting the right to life of all animals.

Expert Team, Strong Infrastructure

The clinic operates with a staff of 11, including 3 veterinarians, 3 veterinary technicians, and support personnel. This allows for faster, more comprehensive, and more professional care for Bornova’s stray animals. One of the most significant features of the new clinic is the removal of consultation hour limitations, making it accessible throughout the day. The neutering capacity has also doubled compared to the previous clinic.

A Hub for Social Gatherings

Relocated to a larger and more modern facility, the clinic will not only provide medical services but also host adoption events, animal-lover meetings, and social activities. This will both improve the living conditions of stray animals and strengthen Bornovalı residents’ shared love for animals.

Keeping Eros’ Name Alive

The clinic was named after Eros, the cat whose brutal killing in Istanbul deeply shook the conscience of Turkey. Located across from the former clinic in Büyükpark, at the intersection of Fevzi Çakmak and Gençlik Streets, the new center has already become a favorite for Bornova’s animal lovers.

Mayor Eşki: “We Wanted Eros’ Name to Live in Bornova”

Highlighting the importance of the clinic, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki stated:
“Protecting the right to life of our animal friends is our priority. This clinic is not just a healthcare center; it will also serve as a meeting point for adoption events, awareness activities, and gatherings for all animal lovers in the heart of Bornova. We wanted Eros’ name to live on in Bornova so that the tragic event that hurt our conscience is never forgotten.”
