The general duties and summary of tasks carried out by our Directorate are as follows:

1. In accordance with the provisions of Law No. 4483 on the Trial of Civil Servants and Other Public Officials, the Directorate conducts investigations and preliminary examinations concerning allegations made by informants and complainants regarding actions by municipal civil servants and other public officials of the Municipality of Bornova that may constitute criminal offenses under the Turkish Penal Code. These investigations are carried out upon the authorization of the Governorship and the District Governorate of Bornova, and Preliminary Examination and Investigation Reports are prepared and submitted to the relevant authorities.

2. Conducts disciplinary investigations into municipal civil servants, contracted personnel, and workers employed by the Municipality of Bornova, upon the approval of the Mayor, and prepares Disciplinary Investigation Reports, which are then submitted to the Mayor.

3. Conducts inspections and investigations regarding matters referred by the Mayor and prepares Investigation and Research Reports accordingly.

4. If any criminal activity is detected during the course of work, the Directorate, with the Mayor’s approval, drafts a formal communication to the Legal Affairs Directorate to file a criminal complaint with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor.

5. With the approval of the Mayor, conducts general inspections of the municipality on behalf of the Mayor.
