Department Activity Areas:

• To produce and/or commission architectural urban design projects within the boundaries of Bornova Municipality in order to make public spaces more livable and aesthetically pleasing (e.g., street furniture, parking lots, sidewalk and green space design and arrangements, etc.).

• To develop conceptual and implementation projects aimed at improving urban life through collective decision-making processes with citizens, especially in collaboration with universities and non-governmental organizations.

• To produce and/or commission façade improvement projects for buildings across the district that have lost their aesthetic value.

• To design and implement social projects that contribute to the development of urban culture and a sense of civic consciousness.

• To prepare and/or commission various publications, maps, brochures, urban design guides, and booklets aimed at fostering urban culture and civic awareness.

• To organize competitions in areas such as urban design, street rehabilitation, and street furniture design in order to support the department’s activities; to participate in national and international competitions; and to carry out or commission related tasks such as printing and publishing.
